Do you speak Swedish at home?
· Children from the age of 3 to 16 can join one of our classes. We help to develop the spoken and written Swedish language and teach history, geography and Swedish culture.
· We meet every Saturday morning 10.00 - 11.30 at The Loxdale Centre in Portslade.
· The school society is subsidised by the Swedish National Agency for Education and we follow their recommended curriculum.
· The school society is a parent cooperative and relies on the voluntary work of parents whose children are enrolled at the school. Would you like to support a well functioning school and help your child maintain or improve their Swedish language skills?
· You can borrow Swedish books and films in our extensive library.
· We celebrate Swedish festivals such as Lucia and Midsummer.
· If you have a younger child or a baby you are very welcome to join our toddler group which operates at the same time and place as the school.
· Please complete the form if you are interested in joining. Send the completed form to info@swedishschoolinbrighton.co.uk or hand it in on a Saturday morning. Please do not post it!
· Would you like to learn Swedish? Experienced teacher Ann Hinton runs classes for adults. Please look at her website www.swedishlanguagetuition.co.uk and contact her for more information.
· We are now enjoying the summer holidays. The new school year starts on Saturday 4 September 2010.
